Join a winning team! SAIC's National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC is seeking a systems engineer with experience implementing and optimizing hardware and/or software products and multi-vendor systems at customer sites including oversight and integration support of existing hardware, software, network configurations and new system initiatives for multiple sites. Experience with planning, designing, and managing the satellite ground station infrastructure, including antennas, RF subsystems, signal processing, and network components is desired.
This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO's space resiliency posture.
The chief systems engineer will join a team of on-site SETAs with responsibilities that may include but are not limited to the following:
· Independently/cooperatively uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of systems.
· Make recommendations for technological applications to accomplish long-range objectives.
· Communicate across organizational boundaries
· Participate in the development, management, and assessment of program acquisition/engineering documentation
· Review system level requirements and concepts of operation
· Assess impacts of changes to functional/system/enterprise requirements on the architecture, interfaces, and verification/validation plans
· Oversee system verification and validation process
· Develop products in support of system level requirements and interface specifications for IC systems to leadership
· Participate in technical interchange meetings between developers and the COTR
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
· Bachelor's degree in systems, aeronautical, mechanical engineering, or scientific/technical discipline with at least 14 or more years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in systems, aeronautical, mechanical engineering, or scientific/technical discipline with at least 12 years or more relevant experience
· Knowledge of system design, analysis, manufacturing and testing
· Experience with IC systems engineering process
· Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills
· Strong written and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
