SAIC is hiring a Systems Engineer Associate with an Interim Secret clearance to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation (DEM&S) directorate (https://ac.cto.mil/sea/dems). The candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing DEM&S goals in alignment with the National Defense Strategy under the OUSD(R&E), as an SAIC employee. 

This position is hybrid remote with onsite work located in Alexandria, VA. The candidate must reside in the National Capital Region (NCR).

 Job Description:

  • Develop and advance digital tools and applications.
  • Create and implement digital and model-based techniques and artifact processes to support systems e Defense (DoD) areas of interest.
  • Create and update DoD policy, guidance, and training to achieve goals within the National Defense Strategy (NDS) related to improving digital engineering practice. 
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in systems engineering being utilized in the DoD.

Qualifications

Required Clearance/Citizenship:

  • Interim Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
  • US citizenship required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technical, engineering, or math (STEM) or discipline that applies digital models to product development.  Systems Engineering degree preferred.
  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering or related roles is acceptable, with a demonstrated track record of successful project contribution

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of digital engineering principles, digital transformation, data-centric operations, methodologies, and practices
  • Some knowledge in SysML, with hands-on experience in creating and interpreting system models preferred
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or Java is preferred
  • Some knowledge in SysML, with hands-on experience in creating and interpreting system models preferred
  • Ability to write software, either through completion of relevant coursework or practical experience in software development preferred
