SAIC is looking for a Systems Engineer as a key member of the team supporting product acquisition activities to accomplish the development and deployment of CBRN detection systems.. 

General tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Leading and guiding program acquisition lifecycle framework (ALF) and systems engineering lifecycle (SELC) planning and implementation.
  • Developing, coordinating, and reviewing acquisition program documentation, including program management plans, program tailoring plans, systems engineering plans, logistics support plans, acquisition program baselines, acquisition plans, configuration management plans, and others.
  • Preparing program briefing materials for budget and resource allocation reviews, risk boards, technical review boards, acquisition review boards, and other program reviews as required.
  • Developing budget and spend plans, and tracking financial obligations and expenditures.
  • Performing risk management, configuration management, interface management, and other program management tasks.
  • Assisting in requirements definition, system analysis and design, validation and verification, systems integration, and system & operations performance analysis.
  • Supporting lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Assisting in development of contracts and contract language for national laboratories, vendors, and other entities supporting CWMD acquisition programs.
  • Leading and supporting program integrated program teams (IPTs) and working groups (WGs).
  • Tracking program cost, schedule, and performance and associated concerns.
  • Supporting cost estimating, schedule development, and WBS development.
  • Coordinating and tasking of matrixed/reach-back SME support.
  • Responding to taskers and action items.

Qualifications

Required:

  •  BS and 9 years experience (4 years experience in lieu of degree)
  • Clearance: Must be eligible for DHS Suitability requiring U.S. citizenship
  • Active Secret clearance 
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes, such as analysis of alternatives, requirements analysis, configuration management, and interface management
  • Experience supporting acquisition activities and/or program offices to include planning, technical reviews, risk analysis, and schedule analysis

 

Desired:

  • Knowledge of DHS or DoD acquisition processes including DHS's Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office.
  • Current DHS Suitability.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
