SAIC has an immediate need for five (5) Software Developers to create, enhance, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that enable rapid development and deployment of software products. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in software development and a passion for streamlining software delivery by implementing modern DevOps practices while being able to develop in existing technologies as upgrades take place.
NOTE: Some positions will be 100% remote while others will be hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly systems that will support our development and infrastructure requirements
· Develop software solutions that leverage automation and integrate with existing systems to enhance operational excellence
· Work collaboratively to deploy and operate our systems, helping to automate and streamline our operations and processes
· Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments
· Manage CI/CD tools and configure automated testing and deployment strategies
· Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve
· Participate in the creation of a containerization strategy and execute it to improve scalability and portability
· Monitor, analyze, and react to system events/alerts to ensure company services are available to meet SLA commitments
· Contribute to the creation of system documentation and update it regularly
· Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
Qualifications
Required Education:
· JUNIOR LEVEL – BS degree and two (2) years of experience
· MID LEVEL – BS degree and five (5) years of experience
Required Skills:
· Experience with either Java, C# and/or .Net to assist in maintaining existing technologies
· Knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, jQuery, and/or React
· Experience with databases such as MSSQL and/or Oracle
· Demonstrated experience with complex SQL queries
· Working with application/web servers
· Proficient with Git or other version control system (VCS)
· Experience working in an Agile/DevOps process
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Problem-solving attitude
· Collaborative team spirit
· Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
Required Clearance:
· Must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance (US Citizenship required); preferred an active Secret Clearance
Work Environment:
· This position may require on-call availability.
· Participation in disaster recovery drills and activities.
· Some travel may be required for the purpose of on-site system maintenance and troubleshooting.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
