SAIC is currently seeking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to support the Army Ground Based Sense and Avoid (GBSAA) Program located in Huntsville, Alabama.
About the Program:
The GBSAA program is system that provides situational awareness and conflict avoidance for unmanned aircraft.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to implement required FAA (DO-178C) and Army (MIL-STD-882E) software development processes
- Work with software developers in Phoenix, AZ, and Syracuse, NY, to ensure processes are followed
- Work with systems engineers and software developers to develop subsystem and high-level software requirements; provide input to system-level requirements development
- Perform software hazard analysis and safety criticality evaluation
- Lead development technical interchange between developers in Phoenix, Syracuse, MIT-Lincoln Labs, and Huntsville
- Participate in software and system integration and testing activities in the Systems Integration Lab and at fielded sites
- Participate in evaluation of hardware obsolescence and replacement products with regard for future S/W compatibility and development
Additional Information:
Software Engineer candidate will need excellent communication skills to collaborate with the internal/external customer and other stakeholders. Software Engineer candidate will be working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple contractors and teaming partners and must be self-motivated, reliable, dependable, flexible, and have excellent interpersonal and verbal/written/presentation communication skills. Travel will be no more than 25% and limited to CONUS. Position will be partial-telework (50/50).
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of experience; Additional four (4) years of experience can be accepted in lieu of degree.
Required Security Clearance:
- Must have an Interim Secret Security Clearance to begin employment
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance to maintain employment
- US Citizenship required
Required Skills:
- CMMI, DO-178C, or similar software process experience
- Proficient with C++/JAVA
- Real-time, avionics, or process control systems
- Software testing in an integrated environment
- Software Architecture relevant experience
Desired Skills:
- Software hazard analysis experience
- Familiarity with FAA processes and regulations
- Experience with GitHub, JIRA, or similar software management tools
- Familiarity with Army command and leadership structure
- Familiarity with Army budgeting processes
