SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our Cloud One team to manage Government A1 Enclave by Cloud One project. The Air Force Cloud One Program is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid, and IT infrastructure that hosts mission systems, applications, services, and data in support of DoD Services and Agencies. Cloud One incorporates the capabilities of Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and DevSecOps principles to provide common services and facilitate cloud application migrations to IL-4, IL-5 and IL-6 (NIPRNet / SIPRNet) AWS and Azure cloud environments. The Senior Linux Systems Administrator selected for this position will build, integrate, and maintain all RHEL/Linux based Virtual Data Center (VDC) systems through the Amazon Web Services (AWS) and investigate and analyze all activities related to infrastructure incidents within the network environment in coordination with the Air Force DTA Security Operations Center, System Administrators and other System Engineers under a tiered response structure. Selected Cloud Engineer Architect will assist in determining scope, urgency, and potential impact and track infrastructure incidents from initial detection through final resolution.
The position is 100% remote.
Daily activities may include:
- Provide direct Red Hat Enterprise (RHEL) and Linux systems engineering, administration and maintenance support to the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment
- Collaborate using Amazon Web Services (AWS) for use of AWS native services
- Discover and resolve issues with RHEL/Linux servers in virtual environment
- Design new capabilities and enhancements (to include Cloud Migration and Analytics design and development) and create efficiencies within the AWS environments
- Experience working with administrator and service accounts and troubleshooting issues
- Creates/updates and maintains system documentation, interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
- Participate in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Report findings to management with recommendations for resolution
- Provide technical assistance and training to users
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience:; PhD and 0 years related experience.
- Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
- Interim Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment
- US citizenship required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATONS:
- Experience planning, building, integrating and maintaining RHEL/Linux system
- Experience with Ansible automation technology
- Experience supporting USAF software development projects
- In-depth understanding of, and experience with, deployments of various systems to Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- All aspects of the environment and deployment must also be documented for support and future implementations
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe or other modern software development methods/practices
- Security+ Certification (or equivalent)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- AWS Associate Certifications
- SAFe DevOps certification is desirable
- Experience supporting software migration efforts
- Experience in an MSP or other IT company
- Working Knowledge of programming languages, Ruby & YAML
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
