SAIC is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.

The Indicium Product Office is seeking senior candidates to represent and operate Network, System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE) software and lead a small team of Field Support Engineers. Support typically involves Missile Defense Agency test execution activities (Flight Tests, Ground Tests and Wargames/Exercises).  The candidate could perform hardware integration and maintenance, should have a basic understanding of computer networking, and a general understanding of computer hardware troubleshooting. The candidate will also be responsible for conducting validating configuration management documentation in support of information assurance certification and accreditation activities. The candidate should be a self-starter and be able operate with minimal supervision. The candidate will support from the MDIOC, Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the primary POC from the IOS organization to all external support entities for Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Ground Tests (GT) and Exercises
  • Acting as primary POC planning local support personnel for BMDS GTs and Exercises
  • Identifying, defining, and refining support requirements for BMDS GTs and Exercises
  • Working with the HSV IOS Operations Lead, communications engineering, and systems administration teams to ensure MDIOC support requirements are met
  • Maintaining a comprehensive support schedule and working with the Network Engineering Lead to manage the travel for all engineers necessary to meet NSITE MDIOC support requirements
  • Assisting with the assignment of support roles to field support engineers in order to meet specific event support requirements while maintaining overall roles to support greater organizational requirements
  • Reviewing funding ROMs for each BMDS FTs, GTs and Exercises
  • Preparing ad-hoc documents regarding the support (human and financial) of BMDS GTs and Exercises.
  • Acting as an integrator between multi-disciplinary groups to help fulfill event support requirements
  •       Supervising junior field support engineers that will aide in all tasks listed above

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree and fourteen (14) years experience supporting in a similar role; Additional six (6) years experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of 6 years of BMDS systems engineering experience
  • Extensive experience in using MS Office suite products
  • Extensive experience in the briefing of technical material to a varied audience

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience with MDA Ground Test program
  • Experience with MDA Flight Test program
  • Experience leading small, specialized teams
  • Knowledge of MDA hierarchy and leadership structure
  • Availability to work infrequent nights or weekends
  • Availability to travel infrequently for one week or less at a time (will require 10%-20% travel)
  •      Ability to balance technical, human, and monetary constraints to achieve customer satisfaction

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
