SAIC is seeking an Operations Officer to join our team in Lake City, Missouri. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Operations Officer in Small Caliber (SC) Product Management Office.
  • Support management of day-to-day operations ensuring adequate administrative support is provided to the Product Manager (PdM), and Deputy Product Manager (DPdM). Duty Station is Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP), Independence, MO.
  • Document and recommend to the PdM and DPdM techniques to interpret, implement, formulate, and evaluate operational and administrative policies, procedures and processes to enhance overall operations and management.
  • The employee will utilize management and organizational principles and a wide range of qualitative and quantitative techniques, to plan, implement, and integrate the mission.
  • Management of SC internal databases to include portfolio information on the Program Management Dashboard.
  • The employee Shall witnesses significant project events, e.g. tests of product or equipment performance, or vendor demonstrations.
  • Will serve as the LCAAP Production Integration Officer and will provide real time analysis, oversight and reporting on products and processes transitioning to production at LCAAP (including all Next Generation family of ammunition items).
  • Participates in planning, design, and facilitation activities of new equipment, processes, and infrastructure in support of significant RTD&E upgrades of existing facilities or design and implementation of new small caliber ammunition production capabilities and products into LCAAP. Interfaces with pertinent Government stakeholders, to include the Product Manager Small Caliber, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC), LCAAP Government staff, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and Joint Munitions Command (JMC), in the performance of these efforts.
  • Performs independent evaluations of technical or process problems impacting delivery of small caliber ammunition or transition of Next Generation process and/or products.
  • Supports the LCAAP requirements analysis of existing building, process, and equipment relative to projected needs to support the transition to production of Next Generation ammunition products.
  • Communicates identified voids with the PM MAS leadership and assists in the development of a Next Generation integration master plan.
  • Reviews transition project proposals associated with Next Generation Family of Ammunition candidate projects for consideration for Army or joint funding.
  • Provides onsite monitoring of transition activities on Army funded projects and programs.
  • Witnesses significant project events, e.g. prove out of new processes, new equipment and tests of Next Generation product(s),
  • Attends IPT weekly meetings; continuously tracks progress of IPT actions, and Army organizational commitments, facilitates resolution of administrative or contractual problems, and highlight unresolved issues that threaten planned production or project transition milestones.
  • Travels to attend meetings, conferences or training on topics associated with small caliber ammunition as required.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. 

Qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge of the Army acquisition process and develop techniques to improve effectiveness and productivity in support of the overall mission. The contractor shall have knowledge of direct fire ammunition capabilities and operational use.
  • Government acquisition experience either on the contract or USG side
  • Technical experience (reviewing TDs)
  • Experience using management 

Clearance:

Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance; Minimum of an Interim Secret clearance required to start.
