SAIC is currently looking for a Network Lab Engineer/Technician to support our Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) team located in Lakehurst, NJ.
This position is hybrid-remote and requires a minimum of 2 days onsite. Must be a US citizen. An Interim Secret clearance will need to be obtained prior to start date.
General Overview:
Tasks will include the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance. The candidate will:
- Buildup of network racks of equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, etc),
- configure and maintain servers /workstations, troubleshooting electronics equipment
- provide support to the program including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices
- analyze user interfaces, maintain hardware and software performance tuning, analyze workload and computer usage, maintain interfaces with outside systems, analyze downtimes, analyze proposed system modifications, upgrades and new COTS
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred
- At least 5 years' experience performing a majority of the system administration and network engineering functions listed above.
- System Administration Skills (Linux & Windows Operating Systems)
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills and detail oriented
- Be able to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Must be a US citizen. An Interim Secret clearance will need to be obtained prior to start date.
EXPERIENCE A PLUS:
- Knowledge of Ethernet 10/100baseT and/or 100base FX
- Lab Environment best practices
