This position supports a DARPA Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation initiative for Coalition partners and the United States. This will include the continued development and integration of command-and-control capability in the DARPA Experimentation Node (DEN). Additionally, to conduct a series of warfighting experimentation events leveraging M&S environments in order to identify and share operationally relevant insights to be used in future warfighting plans, research and development opportunities, and joint/coalition integration.
This position serves as a Modeler & Scenario Generator who understands the DE2 architecture from a high-level perspective. This M&S Generator should be able to operate entire DE2 Software Suite to generate, execute, and test DE2-enabled LVC experimentation. This individual supports a series of warfighting experimentation events leveraging M&S environments at the DEN.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:- Generate, test, and debug both Blue/Red force entity Behavior Models and Weapons Models using the Next Generation Threat Simulator (NGTS).
- Generate, test, and debug new and existing DE2 Scenarios within NGTS.
- Coordinate with VFDE OPs Team to ensure the operational relevance and realism of generated Behavior/Weapons Models and DE2 Scenarios as well as ingest OPs-provided force laydowns and initial conditions into developed scenarios.
- Maintain working knowledge of all DE2 Toolboxes and comprising applications.
- Operate DE2 M&S Tools including but not limited to AST, STK, SPYSE, TSPAR, and SIGMA both independently and in support of NGTS-enabled scenario execution.
- Operate VFDE-developed Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) applications enabling interaction with generated DE2 scenarios, including real-time task/COA generation.
- Leverage modeling and scenario generation expertise to provide support during DE2 testing and execution events.
- Position requires ~75% onsite support in a classified environment.
- Expected FTE to accomplish above tasking: 100% FTE.
Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Ability to represent successful completion of work in Agile Management systems (e.g. Jira, Confluence, GitLab).
- Experience with both Windows and Linux.
- Experience with Docker container-related technologies (i.e. Kubernetes).
- Experience with Modeling and Simulation (M&S), particularly Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) M&S.
- Experience using NGTS.
- Experience with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) network protocol.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working together with several different teams to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance.
