SAIC is looking a Mechanical Engineer to support the US Navy in Bedford, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is seeking a highly organized and motivated leader with a diverse set of engineering technician skills to serve as the subject matter on a fleet of trailers used to transport explosive assets and related equipment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Candidate will work effectively in a fast-paced environment and will report technical and programmatic information to project stakeholders.
- Candidate will be responsible to work in a team environment with Government and SAIC engineers to design, development, test and implement modern systems for the U.S. Navy.
- Candidate will monitor inspection intervals and coordinate with SAIC, Government, and local vendors to ensure inspection cycles are met without impacting mission needs.
- The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating the transfer of technology and technical information between SAIC and the U.S. Navy.
- Serving as our technical expert and on-site representative, you will drive collaboration and ensure the seamless integration of new technologies and processes to ensure mission requirements are met.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and zero years of experience.
- Experience with engineering design, modeling, and drawing development in SolidWorks.
- Experience creating technical data package quality drawings.
- Must have the ability to investigate and troubleshoot problems on operational hardware and software.
- Must have ability to effectively communicate issues to technical team through verbal communication and technical reports.
- Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
- US Citizenship required.
