SAIC is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support a contract, with the primary work location in Reston, VA.

Note: This position will be mainly onsite at our location in Reston, VA.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software.
• Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
• End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
• Ensures software standards are met.

JOB DUTIES:

• Develop, maintain, and test web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript .NET Framework, and SQL Server. Conduct analysis and collaborate with subject matter experts in relevant business areas.
• Assist with modernization of applications to utilize emerging technologies such as .NET Core, Angular, and Docker. Work with DevOps engineers to maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Plan and track progress on development work within Agile processes using GitLab.
• Write software documentation covering system specifications, technical requirements and capabilities.
• Ensures software standards are met by participating in code reviews, retrospectives, and by implementing tests.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE: 

• Bachelor's degree and one (1+) year or more of relevant development experience.
• Experience in Software Development to include the following: 
  • C#, ES6 JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS, SQL.
  • Experience in Software Version Control, Software Configuration Management (Team Foundation Server or GitLab), and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with at least an Interim Secret security clearance to start. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Required Certification: Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification within 12 months (1 year).
