SAIC is hiring a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The applicant will be part of a successful team that develops and supports aviation trainers and simulators including the world's most advanced high-fidelity UH-60 Black Hawk and next-generation AH-64 Apache trainer/simulator. The candidate should be self-motivated. A willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced environment as part of a dynamic and growing team is the key to success. 

As a Mechanical Engineer, your duties and job expectations may include:

• Providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
• Developing static and dynamic designs and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages
• Designing, documenting, and modelling mechanical designs and solutions
• Conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
• Conducting business and technical briefings for senior management and customer representatives
• Directing support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication 
• Providing design information to drafting for packaging documentation   
• Conducting business and technical briefings for senior management and for external representatives
• Collaborating in a cross-functional team to resolve technical issues

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and zero (0) years or more of relevant work experience

Required Experience and Skills:

• Proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
• Ability to work well within a team and individually

Clearance Requirement:

• Active Secret Security Clearance preferred, but candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearancel; US Citizenship required.
