SAIC and the Engineering, Development, Integration and Sustainment (EDIS) team are looking for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to work with our Space Systems Command (SSC) customer at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We want you to join our qualified and diverse team of professional Cybersecurity SMEs, where you can apply your talents to take our team to new levels of performance. You will leverage your subject matter expertise in applications, systems, network cybersecurity, and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements to provide expert ISSE support to various satellite ground command and control systems at multiple classification levels, undergoing system modernization – to include migration to the cloud and co-hosting multiple mission partners.
Steps to success:
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot solutions with a wide selection of Cyber industry tools.
• Work with identity management/rights management tools and implementation models.
• Application of PKI and other common cryptographic best practices.
• Manage, implement, and maintain security tools and technologies, such as Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), SolarWinds Security Event Monitor (SEM).
• Perform vulnerability scans and analysis using ACAS tools.
• Conduct Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scans to ensure Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
• Monitor and analyze network audit logs and create rules and automation to enhance monitoring capabilities.
• Recommend new tools and security controls to improve the security posture of the network.
• Assist in creating customer reports, Authority to Operate (ATO) packages, security plans, and security assessments for new hardware and software.
• Perform continuous monitoring functions such as system audits, user account audits, and Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) reviews.
• Be willing to learn new technologies, stay up-to-date on security trends, and familiarize yourself with new and existing Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) implementation standards.
Qualifications
Expertise Essentials:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a STEM-related field and two years of relevant experience. Four (4) additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
• Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant cybersecurity experience.
• MUST possess an IAT Level II certification to be considered.
• Enthusiastic and energetic performer. Able to work in dynamic, fast-pace, and high visibility environment.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
Sought-after skill set:
• Experience working at the SCI and SAP level relating to space command and control.
• Linux+ or other Linux certifications and experience and/or programming experience.
• Linux and Windows integration in a virtualized environment.
• ESS and ACAS installation and management experience.
• Experience with SCAP scans and STIG viewer.
• Experience with patching and applying STIGs and other cyber technologies that implement security controls in military cyberspace operational environments, to include firewalls, router ACLs, PKI, OWASP, scripting, identity management, virtualization, etc.
• Experience with Static Code Analysis using tools such as Fortify.
• Familiarity with NIST and RMF standards.
