SAIC is currently the key support contractor for the Force Development Evaluation (FDE) Program to the Air Force.  SAIC provides aerospace engineering analysis and modeling/simulation support as part of a multi-contractor team.  SAIC is looking for an energetic and highly motivated engineer to become the next generation telemetry expert for a variety of interesting rocket programs.  At the SAIC San Bernardino engineering center we are multi-discipline team of propulsion, structures, fluid mechanics, software, controls, and avionics engineers. We support the Rocket System Launch Program (RSLP) which is a United States Space Force program that provides quick access to space to other government agencies in addition to ICBM technical analysis.  Working in the SBCA engineering center provides a unique and diverse opportunity to work with various launch vehicle programs (besides MMIII) and contractors throughout the country and perform independent analysis of the launch vehicle designs.  Don't miss this great opportunity to contribute to one of the most exciting and challenging development and sustainment efforts in the Department of Defense (DoD).  Position and pay will be commensurate with skills and experience.  A qualified candidate will perform the following duties, but are not limited to:

  • Perform section lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and analysts for the development of the data requirements for the MIII Force Development Evaluation (FDE) program
  • Advise and assist the FDE program manager on all facets of personnel staffing issues within their respective engineering section  
  • Provide technical oversite and guidance for Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), which includes flight test planning, weapon system effectiveness, post flight analysis, and modeling and simulation development.
  • Develop project task schedules, and weekly status reports.
  • Assign, oversee and participate in post flight analysis tasks such as booster and ballistic trajectory analysis, and isolation of individual accuracy error analysis.
  • Collect analysis and accuracy results into a final data review briefing and present to AFGSC officials and MMIII community.
  • Oversee the collection, maintenance, and analysis of a database of numerous flight test specific parameters including demonstrated accuracy results to identify trends, validate current analysis results and predict future results.
  • Provide technical review of FDE deliverables and approve responsible deliverables to the customer.
  • Provide highly specialized technical support for planning, conducting, and reporting on FDE deliverables and engineering activities.
  • Support staff development needs, teaming assignments, and integration of staff with respective IPTs
  • Foster integration and collaboration within the ICBM community and within the FDE engineering team.
  • Support project cost estimates for ODCs and travel estimates
  • Assist in managing and tracking of program milestones, schedule, and budget execution

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

·       Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret security clearance

  • BS degree and 10 years or more of experience with ICBM launch operations, flight software and analysis tools
  • 5 years of project management experience including project management specific tracking and reporting software (e.g. Microsoft Project)
  • Knowledge of the MMIII FDE requirements and AFGSC requirements.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with MMIII mission planning, trajectory analysis, and tool development
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with MMIII post flight accuracy and exo/endo atmospheric error isolation analysis including: guidance and control, geodetic & geophysical, separation, weather, ballistic coefficient and acceleration.
  • Proven leadership and management skills to lead complex programs/projects to completion
  • Excellent Communication/Coordination skills with project leaders and other professionals
Desired Qualifications:

·       MMIII Management experience

·       Strong background in computer science, to include object-oriented programming, compilers, and shell scripting in a Linux environment

·       Experience with design validation and/or verification of missile and/or aircraft GN&C systems through post flight analyses

·       Experience in giving presentations and interfacing with customers

·       Experience with ICBM weapon systems


Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
