We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Admin Associate to join our talented team. This role will require skills in SQL querying, data modeling, basic database administration, data analysis, data visualization, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities include maintaining database integrity, performing data cleansing, creating reports, assisting with data migration, and identifying potential data quality issues.

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather data from various sources and prepare it for analysis.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks like data cleansing and archiving.
  • Create reports and dashboards to present data insights to stakeholders.
  • Assist with data migration activities between different systems or databases.
  • Check data for accuracy and consistency against established rules.
  • Write and execute complex SQL queries to retrieve specific data sets.
  • Monitor database performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Maintain clear documentation of database structures, processes, and data definitions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years of professional experience.
  • Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) to query, manipulate, and update data within databases.
  • Ability to design and implement database structures (schemas) to efficiently store and access data.
  • Basic knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) like Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server, including backup procedures, user management, and performance tuning.
  • Ability to extract insights from data by analyzing trends, patterns, and anomalies using statistical techniques.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (like Tableau or Power BI) to present complex data in understandable formats.
  • Ability to identify and address data quality issues, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
    • Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.
