SAIC has an opening for a Configuration Manager. Make an impact on both business and technology operations while delivering ServiceNow features as our global federal customer expands platform usage. The candidate must have experience with ServiceNow, ITOM (IT Operations Management), network infrastructure discovery technologies, web-based applications, possess strong communication skills, and have the desire to learn the general operations of a global organization.
This role is remote, but a candidate located in the metro DMV area is highly preferred.
Your responsibilities will include:The Configuration Manager is responsible for supporting ServiceNow Discovery Team initiatives and for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The activities include the following:
- Under broad direction provide development and administration of the ServiceNow infrastructure.
- Assist with the implementation of Cloud Discovery.
- Understand business context and how to translate business and functional requirements into a sustainable ServiceNow implementation.
- Regular audits across CI types and implementation of data repair actions.
- Alignment of CMDB maintenance practices with other ITSM processes.
- Perform day to day support, administration and maintenance of ServiceNow Discovery initiatives.
- Diagnose and isolate incidents through testing and work to develop workarounds and/or fixes for system related issues.
- Develop clear and concise technical and process documentation.
- Facilitation of projects and deliverables across CMDB stakeholders.
- Mentoring and coaching of junior business analysts.
- Data management support for the hardware asset and software asset management teams.
- Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the CMDB.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience; Master's degree and 3 years experience. May accept additional experience in lieu of degree, but a degree in computer science, business administration, information systems, or engineering management is highly preferred.
- Current ServiceNow Mainline CSA certification (Certified System Administrator) with 3 years of experience in using the application.
- Completion of ServiceNow Discovery Fundamentals.
- Experience working with Agile Project Teams.
- Significant experience in using data analytics to solve problems and gain insights.
- 3 years experience in managing a complex database include data quality and integrity audits
- Experience in maintaining a CMDB or similar database.
- 2 years experience in implementing network infrastructure, hardware and/or software configuration management processes.
- Expertise level skills in Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Required Clearance:
- US citizenship.
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain an interim secret clearance prior to starting work.
Desired Experience, Skills, & Attributes:
- Completion of ServiceNow Performance Analytics Fundamentals highly preferred.
- Work towards or achievement of advanced ServiceNow Certifications such as:
- ITOM Operations Management (ITOM) Discovery Implementer
- Software Asset Management (SAM) Professional Fundamentals
- Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Professional Fundamentals
- ITIL Foundations
- Familiarity with Windows and UNIX based operating systems
- Knowledge of hardware and software asset management practices.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
