SAIC is seeking a motivated, dedicated, and experienced Computer Programmer II to support on-going updates to a deployed air traffic control simulation scenario generation tool. The programmer will collaborate with team members to debug and port Visual Basic 6 code into a modern (.NET) platform, coordinating with the Team Lead and Lead SME on any problems with tool functions.
Candidate will support and participate in:
· Daily team meetings.
· Technical interchange meetings.
· Customer requirements analysis and interpretation.
· Software design and code reviews to uphold code quality and industry standards.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position must have, as a minimum, a baccalaureate degree in computer science, computer programming, or a comparable degree field, from an accredited college or university. Candidates who have experience and certifications and can demonstrate the abilities may be considered with these as a substitution.
Required Experiences/Skills:
· At least six years of programming experience in Visual Basic 6/VB.NET is required.
· Experience programming in .NET.
· Experience working with SQL & Red Hat Linux (RHEL).
· Demonstrated ability to update the software GUI.
· Knowledge of software development processes.
Desired Qualifications:
· Full Stack Developer.
· Familiarity with AWS.
· Experience with Git.
· Using Visual Studio/VS Code.
· Knowledge of technical data package documentation.
· Verification & validation of system specifications & design documentation.
· Experience with aviation or air traffic control.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
