SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in Kubernetes fundamentals, Helm chart installation and configuration, and Docker containers. As a Cloud Engineer at SAIC, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions for our clients. This is a full-time remote position, but travel is required 25% of the time to meet client needs and collaborate with team members. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud-based infrastructure. 

• Develop and implement Kubernetes clusters and manage their lifecycle. 

• Install and configure Helm charts to automate the deployment of applications. 

• Build, manage, and optimize Docker containers for various applications. 

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment. 

• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud-based systems to ensure high availability and performance. 

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions. 

• Document processes, configurations, and best practices for cloud infrastructure. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with nine (9) years or more of related experience. 

• Proven experience working with Kubernetes, including setting up and managing clusters. 

• Proficiency in installing and configuring Helm charts. 

• Strong knowledge of Docker containers and container orchestration. 

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. 

• Strong communication and collaboration skills. 

• Willingness to travel 25% of the time as required. 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Kubernetes certification (CKA, CKAD, or CKS). 

• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible. 

• Knowledge of microservices architecture and design patterns. 

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack. 

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
