SAIC is looking an Athletic Trainer for the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Program at Fort Cavazos, TX.

This position is contingent upon contract award in the Fall of 2024. The AT will act as part of a multi-disciplinary team that will include Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCC) and Cognitive Performance Coaches (CPS) to function as integrated members of a Brigade (BDE)-based team focused on optimizing Soldier readiness and performance within the Army's new Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System.

Job Duties:

  • Developing lines of communication within the Brigade (BDE) and Battalion (BN) leadership to ensure the command identified objectives for Athletic Training are being executed.
  • Rehabilitating soldiers: Develop and deliver rehabilitation programs for injured Soldiers.
  • Provide guidance and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to the BDE medical support staff as directed. 
  • Support the SCC and CPS staff by delivering recommendations as to best practices regarding training programs in physical conditioning sessions that will promote a reduction in Muscular Skeletal (MSK) injuries.
  • Track Soldier/unit progression in injury reduction and return to duty and provide this data to the BDE leadership as required.
  • Reporting systems:Develop and deliver data driven training reports which correlate H2F team programming with desired outcomes as identified by command.
  • Collaborate with BDE leadership and the H2F team to develop, coordinate, and execute approved training programs for Soldiers with physical limitations.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in an accredited Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Health Science related discipline and (3) three years of relevant experience; Masters degree and (1) one year of relevant experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant experience is defined as developing and executing task and environment specific functional injury control and health/well-being programs for groups of professional/collegiate athletes or DoD/Department of Homeland Security/Department of Justice entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal.

    Employment related to internships or graduate work up to one year will be considered towards relevant experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Military experience preferred.
  • Master's degree in athletic training with three years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer with a passing score on the Board of Certification (BOC) exam.
