The Architecture and Engineering Manager will play a key role in shaping the future of complex systems by creating, managing, and maintaining System, Functional, and Domain Metamodels that are pivotal throughout the entire lifecycle of engineering activities across the USSTRATCOM portfolio. This role involves working closely with a government Architecture and Engineering team to curate and distribute a comprehensive System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) that spans the full scope of USSTRATCOM's C4IT Directorate Area of Responsibility.

The successful candidate will ensure that all architecture and engineering processes and standards are aligned with DoD and USSTRATCOM policies, including DoD Directive 5137.02, DoDI 5000.82, and SI 301-6, and will guide these efforts through every phase of system architecture and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and distribution of Domain Metamodels used for all phases of capability and lifecycle engineering activities.
  • Oversee and lead architecture engineering daily team activities.
  • Collaborate with the government Architecture and Engineering team to curate and manage the SEMP across the USSTRATCOM portfolio.
  • Ensure all engineering activities are performed in compliance with DoD and USSTRATCOM policies.
  • Oversee the management of architectural standards, ensuring alignment with DoD and USSTRATCOM directives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree with eighteen (18) years or more of related experience; or a Masters with sixteen (16) years or more of related experience.
  • Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA) at the Distinguished Level (3).
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) credential.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in engineering complex IT systems within the last ten years.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Certifications as directed by DoDD 8140.x (Advanced level).
  •  At least five years of experience in Systems Architecture and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in the last ten years.
  • Proficiency in DoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture Framework).
  • Hands-on experience with architecture tools such as SPARX EA or Cameo.
  • Proven experience in System of Systems engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with tool automation and integration technical auditing.
