FTE:

1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests and experimental procedures for the purposes of original research which generally are within a well-defined body of scientific knowledge and typically contribute to larger research efforts of independent investigators.

Collects data from each experiment, calculates results of research studies and records information appropriately.

Assists with planning specific research procedures; develops and troubleshoots new techniques that have been written up in the literature; proposes alternative experimental procedures to the principal investigator.

Assists with care and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies; ensures that the necessary supplies are available; periodically orders inventory and supplies as needed.

Salary range for this position is $57,247 - $72,203 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. Master's degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment; or
2. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experiences:

  • Previous experience working in a research wet lab setting
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry
  • Experience with blood processing, and/or experience with sterile cell culture techniques
  • Experience with instrument QC or other QC setting
  • Experience in customer service or teaching/training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work outside of the 8:30am -5:00pm Monday -Friday schedule on rare occasions.
