1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Roswell Park is seeking a scientific programmer to work alongside scientific subject matter experts on a multi-disciplinary team to design and implement tools to manage workflow, data, samples, and analysis in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for a Molecular Laboratory. Candidates will provide technical expertise for software development of the front-end web GUI as well as back-end REST services including user authentication using oAuth2, REST API, and database. They will also interface and process HL7 messages from lab instrumentation, electronic health records, and other services into the LIMS as well as the electronic medical record (EMR). salary range is $87,115 to $106,711 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience1. Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field; or
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or
3. Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience; or
4. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time software development experience.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge of front-end GUI development using modern JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS/Angular/Vue, creating and consuming REST APIs, experience with relational (MySQL) and graph databases (Neo4j, Mongo DB, GraphQL). They must show proficiency programming in Python and using git for source code version control. Experience with docker, test automation frameworks, CI/CD, and Linux command line are a plus. Experience in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
