Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Health Information Management Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Manages the daily operations of the sections of the Health Information Management Department; coordinates and manages the Health Information Management (HIM ) department efforts to maintain the accuracy, availability, regulatory compliance and privacy of the patient medical record; assures that the data, whether paper or electronic, meets medical, legal, and ethical standards.Salary range for this position is $84,156 - $106,454 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Certification Requirement
Certification registered with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC), or National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA), including but not limited to Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Oncology Data Specialist (ODS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO).
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical record experience, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
2. Associate's degree in Health Information Management or a related field and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time medical records experience, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experiences:
- AHIMA Credentials
- 2 years Supervisory Experience
- Knowledge of NYS Privacy Laws and HIPAA Standards
- 2 years Document Processing Experience
- EHR Experience
- Customer Service Experience
