1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: The HRI Scientist supports preclinical research in the Dept. of Medicine under Dr. Eunice Wang. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, immune-oncology research environment and works well with other lab members, collaborators and students. The research consists of molecular biology techniques, immunological techniques and multiple model systems including in vitro culture, in vivo mouse models and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models to test novel targeted therapies in human leukemia. Responsibilities include performing molecular biology experiments (e.g., cell culture, cell preparation, western blotting, colony assays and flow cytometry analysis); assisting with or conducting in vivo experiments; data recording, analysis, reporting and interpretation; training new lab members and student interns; contributing to laboratory management and IACUC protocols; assisting with manuscript and grant writing.

The salary range for this position is $39,900-$185,000 annually which includes comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. M.D. or PhD in an appropriate field; or
2. Master's degree in an appropriate field.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred QualThe preferred candidate should have good communication skills and work well within a team, collaborate with researchers, and track projects; generation of scientific abstracts, data for publications/grant applications, and published peer-reviewed research. They will also have experience handling and treating mice, experience with in vivo experiments, and experience in molecular biology experiments (e.g. cell culture, DNA/RNA analysis, cell preparation, western blotting and flow cytometry analysis). They will also have data recording, analysis, reporting and interpretation skills, prior laboratory management/organization and familiarity with IACUC protocols. The ideal candidate will also have manuscript and grant writing expertise.
