Organization Overview

The Rockefeller University is a world-renowned center for research and education in biomedical sciences. The Communications and Public Affairs (CPA) team develops the University's overall communications strategy and messaging, and is responsible for a number of print and electronic publications, the external website, media relations, social media, public events, and more.
Overview

Reporting to the AVP, CPA, the Web and Digital Senior Specialist will carry out the majority of front-end production work related to the Rockefeller website, e-mail marketing projects, and the on-campus communication system, playing an integral role in the day-to-day execution of digital communications efforts.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Updates and maintains The Rockefeller University's website in WordPress, develops new pages and sections of the site, produces, edits, and sends regular e-mail newsletters for various campus constituencies and special events, and assists internal university clients with updates and page optimizations as requested.
  • Performs image editing and other graphic design work, including e-posters; collaborates with digital strategy and editorial teams to proactively suggest improvements and adjustments to the website and other digital materials based on metrics; serve as first-line quality control for all digital and web materials.
  • Oversees campus communications location-based screen system, including designing new content and managing the display schedule via presenter software; coordinates department A/V needs for events, livestreams, and other projects;
  • Assists with special web projects as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison between CPA and Rockefeller's IT Department and works closely with outside web vendors/developers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a digital communications, digital marketing or front-end developer role required.

Fluency in basic HTML, proficiency with WordPress and/or content management systems, experience with Email Marketer, Mailchimp, or other email marketing tools, and strong graphic and image editing skills, including proficiency with Adobe Creative Suit necessary.
Strong project management skills required.
Readiness to do hands-on, daily work on the website and other digital platforms.

Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

Must be willing and interested in collaborating with CPA colleagues and comfortable working directly with our Rockefeller faculty. The successful candidate must be flexible in nature, have sound judgment with a collaborative style that fosters teamwork and cooperation beyond the immediate team to the broader organization. Must have a passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Experience with video editing as well as CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript a plus. Web/digital writing experience preferred.

Interest in the sciences and biomedical research and/or experience working at a similar institution a plus.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Compensation Range: Min

USD $90,000.00/Yr.
Compensation Range: Max

USD $100,000.00/Yr.
