Job Requirements
• Peds Experience not required
• BLS required
• Pals preferred
• # Beds: 20
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 days and nights
• Common diagnoses: COPD, PN, DVT, simple surgeries- appe, chole, bowel surgeries, SBO, DM
• Peds, Cysto- CBI, PD on the unit (will train), Peds- respiratory- RSV, bronchiolitis (HFNC), Bili, FTT, Appe, fractures, pain control
• Experience: Peds experience preferred, One year okay, First time traveler okay
• RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- per protocol
• Common titratable: Heparin, octreotide, protonix
• Tele/monitor techs on this unit?: Medical tele, Nurses verify strips, Central monitoring tech monitors and reads
• Nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 1:10-15. Check blood sugars, ADLS, Vitals
• RT Equipment: CPAP/BIPAP/HFNC- kids and adults

Schedule Information
• Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours 5-530, Set up scheduled, Try to accommodate block schedule, First schedule may be plugging into where they needs are
• Weekend Requirement: Every other
• Holiday Requirement: Expected to work if the need is there, Rotating
• Floating Requirements: First to float, Must be okay with floating, Tele/ortho neuro/ Rehab, Within skill set

Unit Specific Information
• Charge Nurse: Team leader (free of patients) during the week, Charge on nights- takes patients, Charge on weekends also takes patients
