Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Grain Elevator Laborer to join our team at our St. Louis, MO Milling location. As a Grain Elevator Laborer, you will be part of a team that works hands on to support the safe, efficient operations of a grain handling facility. The hourly wage for this position is $18.63 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean work environment, shoveling grain spills, sweeping floors, brushing down equipment, machinery, and work stations using brooms, shovels, vacuum, and hand tools

  • Facilitate the moving, coupling, and unloading of rail cars in a safe and orderly manner

  • Position gates or spouts to direct flow of grain from conveyors to storage silos

  • Control flow of grain by opening gates, chutes, or hoppers

  • Operate power tools including electrical/cordless/pneumatic devices

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work on your own without direct supervision

  • Must be capable of lifting and stacking up to 50lbs unassisted

  • Safely perform duties on ladders, platforms, or scaffolding

  • Able to work in a processing/milling environment and adverse conditions (heights, exposure to dust, noise, and working with heights; limited exposure to chemicals and pesticides

  • Completion of safety courses such as confined spaces
