The DC Assistant Supervisor position will be based in our Sumner, WA location!

For the state of Washington only, the pay range is $29.00 to $34.00, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Commission/Bonus Plan: Platt Distribution Center Bonus Plan

 

Summary
The Distribution Center Assistant Supervisor is responsible for helping coordinate and supervise all activities performed by Distribution Center employees under their charge daily. In the absence of the Distribution Center Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of the job tasks within their department.

 

What You'll Do

  • Must behave consistently with the Company's Core Competencies, Polices, Procedures, guidelines, and focus on safety 
  • Assist in training, assigning, and directing work. Assist in addressing complaints and resolving employee issues 
  • Assist in the supervision and coordination of the functions of departments in an orderly manner to achieve the highest possible levels of accuracy and productivity 
  • Must know all department functions and processes 
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment, maintaining the security of the Distribution Center 
  • Ensure inbound and/or outbound shipments and products are accurate and free of damage 
  • Research Workforce Management System (WMS) transaction logs to correct or verify any outstanding issues 
  • Coordinate activities related to receiving, shipping, picking, and packing of inventory and non-inventory items. Assist with any inventory corrections needed as discovered throughout the workday 
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the Distribution Center 
  • Greet visitors, perform Distribution Center tours, and effectively correspond with customers as required 
  • May fill in for various Distribution Center roles 
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • High School or GED    
  • 2+ years of experience in a high-volume Distribution Center
  • Certified to operate all material handling equipment: forklift, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack, Electric Reach Truck, and High-Reach Narrow-Aisle 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform all job tasks associated with lower-level departmental positions is required 
  • Must be service oriented, self-motivated, dependable, possess excellent leadership skills, and customer service skills 
  • Ability to perform various tasks on computers, including the use of Excel, Outlook, and Word is required 
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the Distribution Center Management Software (WMS) or other systems in use at Distribution Centers 
  • Demonstrate Management abilities and/or leadership training 
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
