    Certification Details
  • Education: RN graduate with current Colorado licensure.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment.
    Job Details
  • The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice.
  • The position is one of providing direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and to provide direct care to the newborn.
  • Performing assessments, monitoring process of labor, preparing for C-sections, inductions, and proper documentation of nursing care.
  • Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum including infant care and providing patient education.
  • Prepares delivery room, provides emotional support, and coordinates transfers.
  • Administer IV medications, adhere to principles of infection control and general policies of OB department.
    Job Requirements
  • Physical: Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.
    Schedule Information
  • Full Time working 36 hours per week, 7:00p to 7:00a.
  • May rotate shifts and areas as staffing and census requires
  • On call required.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Accountability: The RN reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager.
  • Special Demands: The role is physically demanding and requires interaction with a variety of patients and coworkers.
  • Experience: 4 years experience in Obstetrics care preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of or interest in learning labor, delivery, postpartum and nursing care essentials.
  • Principles of sterile technique and infection control.
  • Skilled in technical aspects of mother/infant care.
  • Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations.
  • Able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and have good communication skills.
