Position Summary:

The Assistant Executive Director is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in the daily operations, leadership, and management of the community. This role ensures quality service delivery, team collaboration, and regulatory compliance while contributing to financial and operational goals. The Assistant Executive Director will also oversee at least one community department.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Leadership:

  • Support the Executive Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating community operational procedures.

  • Serve as acting Executive Director in their absence.

  • Manage departmental operations, especially during leadership vacancies.

  • Perform regular walkthroughs and implement preventative maintenance recommendations.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state regulations, and internal policies.

Customer & Resident Relations:

  • Communicate proactively with residents, families, and team members.

  • Monitor resident and team satisfaction through surveys and implement timely corrective actions.

  • Participate in Resident Council meetings.

Financial Management:

  • Assist in meeting community financial targets and budget adherence.

  • Support budget preparation and monthly expense management.

  • Monitor revenue generation through occupancy and room rate optimization.

  • Analyze monthly financials and implement improvement plans.

Sales & Marketing Support:

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support move-ins and community outreach.

  • Understand local market dynamics and assist in overcoming competitive challenges.

Team Supervision:

  • Assist in overseeing all community departments to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Support team development, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training.

  • Maintain proper staffing levels and minimize overtime.

  • Encourage internal promotions and career growth among staff.

  • Promote a professional and accountable work environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Leadership experience in senior living or a related industry strongly preferred.

  • Proven track record in operations management, team leadership, and budget oversight.

  • Experience with performance management, team development, and regulatory compliance.

  • Administrator license/certification as required by state regulations.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of senior care operations, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to analyze financial statements and manage budgets.

  • Commitment to high-quality resident care and customer service.

  • Skilled in conflict resolution, team building, and operational planning.

Work Environment:
  • This position may require weekend and holiday availability.

  • May involve occasional travel or coverage at other communities as needed.
