Schedule Details: Schedule: • Weekdays, 1st shift• Rotating weekends
What You Will Do:
Acts as a practitioner, educator, consultant, and clinical expert that provides operational support to enhance and improve the delivery and quality of behavioral health services within the outpatient departments.The team lead functions under the general direction of the outpatient manager and in cooperation and collaboration with other administrative roles within the behavioral health service line.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures appropriate day to day staffing levels of the Integrated Behavioral Health Services team to meet customer and patient care needs. Finds coverage for unexpected absences keeping the manager informed of solutions.
- Acts as a resource for staff on daily issues, concerns, or questions. Ensures significant issues are escalated to leadership for awareness and involvement.
- Develops and maintains a professional productive relationship with the department manager, director, and other department leaders to identify problems, implement and evaluate action plans.
- Provides clinical practice consultation to staff, all inpatient units and outpatient departments, management, and administration within PHC regarding best practices for the delivery of behavioral health services.
- Role models and utilizes the clinical mental health professional process in collaboration with the patient/family and health care team to facilitate patient access to behavioral health treatment services.
- Provides training and orientation to new team members. Facilitates training and education to current staff on new processes, technology, and organizational goals. Demonstrates the knowledge to be the subject matter expert on the team.
- Participates in evaluation of staff performance and keeps manager informed of clinical quality or other employee related concerns.
- Incorporates fiscal responsibility into every day practice in regards to use of supplies and equipment as well as time management for self and department staff members.
- Monitors the clinical services being provided by the department for quality, consistency and efficiency.
- Incorporates patient aggregate data to improve clinical satisfaction and financial outcomes.
- Assists department staff in the acquisition of practice skills and knowledge through orientation, clinical supervision, competency review and clinical mentorship.
- Provides direct clinical supervision as needed toward completion of supervised practice hours for credentialing purposes.
- Educates department staff on the credentialing and continuing education requirements and expected timeframes for completion.
- Facilitates compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS standards, DHS program certification requirements and external measures through leadership, mentoring, role modeling and expert consultation.
- Utilizes effective communication, conflict resolution and team building skills.
- Promotes and encourages self-motivation, autonomy, responsibility and accountability of all department staff.
- In addition, the BHS Team Lead position includes all the job accountabilities of the Behavioral Health Therapist job description.
Requirements:
- Licensed/credentialed as an independent mental health clinician (LCSW or LPC).
- Must be privileged to provide services as a part of medical staff at all PHC locations.
- Credentials must be maintained by fulfilling all continuing education requirements.
- Must have a valid driver's license, maintain a safe driving record and be a least 21 years old when driving to various PHC locations for work related requirements.
