Schedule Details: Work M-F days 8-1630 availability - Holiday and on call rotation included. 

 

Job Summary

Provides the development and delivery of Pastoral Care to Patinets, their families, and personnel of ProHealth Care System. Works in collaboration with PHC Pastoral Care Supervisor in addressing identified Religious/Spiritual needs.

Responsibilities • Evaluates, documents, maintains and provides clinical excellence in Pastoral Care.
• Provides Pastoral and spiritual care to patients, families, and PHC Health Care System personnel, as needed.
• Serves as spirituality resource person throughout PHC health system as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to integrate the insights of theology and the behavioral sciences into pastoral care assessments and practice.
• Demonstrates ability to conceptualize and communicate theologically the meaning of the crises experienced by persons in the setting in which one ministers.
• Nurtures spiritual resources through participation in personal Faith Tradition, spiritual formation disciplines and participation in continuing education opportunities.
• Obtains necessary medical, nursing and other staff input to assist in determining and meeting patient/family needs.
• Communicates both verbally and in writing to other patient care team members to exchange information regarding spiritual issues which may affect patient's response to treatment.
• Facilitates religious or spiritual rituals and practices as desired by patient and family, maintaining sensitivity toward cultural/spiritual/religious diversity.
• Attends required pastoral care team meetings for operational and administrative functions related to pastoral care program as requested.
• Functions as spiritual expert on team, is a resource and support to team members. Education Associate's Degree (or other 2-year degree) Experience may be substituted for degree. Additional Requirements

Masters degree in Religious Studies preferred. 2-4 Units of Clinical Pastoral education - equivalency may be considered.

Provide documentation of a minimum of 1 Unit Clinical Pastoral Education (PPE) accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (APCE), The United State Conference of Catholic Bishops Commission on Certification and Accreditation or the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education. 
    
Equivalency for the one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education may be considered.   Ordination, Commissioning or Endorsement to function in a ministry of pastoral care/chaplaincy by an appropriate religious /or faith authority, or equivalency.   .1-3 years of experience providing pastoral care in a health care environment to persons with life-limiting illness or trauma and/or experiencing grief and loss.  Equivalency may be considered.   Preferred requirements: Board Certifed Chaplain by Assciaiton of Professional Chaplains or Equivalency may be considered. Graduate level theological degree from a college university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.  Ordination, Commissioning or Endorsement to function in a ministry of Pastoral Care/Chaplaincy by an appropriate religious/or faith authority. What you will need:

Associate's Degree

One Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education completed (Equivalency for the one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education may be considered.)

Preferred requirements:
