What You Will Do:

The Behavioral Health Therapist II is a fully licensed, dually credentialed Masters level provider who provides clinical behavioral health services and coordination of care to patients, families and referral sources engaged with ProHealth Care.  Services include those provided on the inpatient behavioral health unit, in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), in the Intensive Outpatient or Opioid Dependence Programs, patients connected to providers within the Behavioral Health Services Outpatient Department, and patients engaged in services through the Assessment & Referral department as well as patients throughout the ProHealth Care system needing behavioral health services and service coordination.

 

Responsibilities on Inpatient BH Unit (1SE) and PHP:
  • Facilitates group and family therapy sessions
  • Develops, implements and evaluates treatment plans with treatment team
  • Conducts insurance utilization reviews and participates in discharge planning
  • Coordinates care with internal/external providers
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings, staffings and unit meetings
  •  Assists in maintaining the safety of the department and milieu management
  • Participates and contributes in departmental process improvement initiatives
  • Serves as a clinical resource to department staff regarding program planning/development and the availability of community resources

Additional PHP Responsibilities

  • Case manages patients in the program as assigned

Assessment & Referral Responsibilities

  • Conducts behavioral health assessments, provides diagnoses using the DSM 5 or current version, makes appropriate recommendations for treatment
  • Provides behavioral health assessment, recommendations and referral services upon request from Emergency Department staff and other PHC departments, including the medical units of both PHC hospitals
  • Facilitates admissions to PHC Behavioral Health Services programs
  • Administers short-term and urgent individual and family counseling services in an office setting
  • Provides information to insurance care managers / managed care organizations for authorization of recommended treatment
  • Keeps current on the knowledge of community, county, state and federal resources related to patient behavioral health care needs
  • Collaborates with other departments as needed
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with referral sources

 

What You Will Need:

  • Masters degree in a related mental health field.
  • ​Meets state of WI requirements for licensure in accordance with their Masters degree- LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
  • AND meets state of WI requirements for certification as a substance abuse counselor (SAC or CSAC) or Substance Abuse Specialty Authorization added to their licensure
  • Maintenance of licensure/certifications via completion of appropriate continuing education hours each biennium
