Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Membership Services; the Membership Sales Representative is responsible for performing various tasks including but not limited to: membership software management, member sales processes, membership account management, front desk coverage, Kids Korner staffing, facility tours, membership inquiries, answering phones and providing customer service support to members and guests. Database, Word and Excel proficiency required. Point of Sale for services and products with proper cash procedures followed a must. Appointment scheduling, announcements, presentations and other verbal and written communication skills utilized daily. Orders departmental supplies and is responsible for pro shop sales. Follows directions as provided and needed.

Accountabilities

  • Provide excellent Customer Service as measured by the Member Survey, greets members by name, answers questions and phone calls and directs members or guests to appropriate answer or area that can assist with the answer. Coordinates entire membership sales process including new or prospective members (tours, data entry, physician clearances) membership paperwork.  Responds to member comments and concerns and addresses any missing information during the membership application process.20%
  • Team Work as Measured by the employee survey and employee teamwork score; fellow team members feel the team is reliable and provides assistance when available and needed.  Team members trust each other and feel they have each others best interest.  All team members participate in ALL Tasks of the Membership Services Department.  Covers the front desk and kids korner if needed.  Responsible for back up to Business Office Representative responsibilities. 20%
  • Growth as measured by the retention and growth of the membership database; Membership Sales Representative assists in calling the retention management list to provide an opportunity for members to share concerns and assist in making changes to provide a positive experience for the member if possible.  Provide tours and receive intake information while assisting in a positive first experience with the front desk to help secure a new or renewing membership. Presents at health fairs and New Hire Orientation to sell membership to the Life Center. 20%
  • Growth as measured by the Average number of visits; ensure all members and guest swipe their card for their visit to count.  Address any errors with the member or guest account.  Encourage members to attend specialty classes or other services the Life Center offers. Documents all club guest visits for future follow-up.  Assists in the implementation of various club sales/retention efforts to ensure that program goals are achieved.   20%
  • Customer Service as measured by the very good score for knowledge and service for the front desk, kids korner and business office.  Each experience at the front desk, kids korner and business office is to be as positive and supportive for the members as possible.  Be up to date on the Fact Book and know the policies and procedures of the Life Center.  Ask questions when programs or services are unclear.  Responsible for follow-up including guest and tour cards, phone calls, letters and membership cancellations.  Orders all items necessary to sell in the pro-shop and manages all inventory of the items.  Manages the revenue and expenses of the pro-shop based on the Fy budget.  Responsible for marketing the sales of the pro-shop items.  20%

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

1 year of related work experience in a business office, marketing or sales setting.

In Lieu Of

In lieu of 1 year of related experience will accept a Bachelor's or Associate degree or enrollment in a Bachelor's or Associate degree program in a related field.
