Position Summary
PMA is currently seeking a Senior Project Scheduler for an exclusive assignment supporting the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority Construction and Development (MTAC&D). The Senior Project Scheduler will be an onsite role located in Flushing, NY. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and team-building skills, along with the ability to work independently, collaboratively, and with full transparency, as required by the client/project. In addition, you must be knowledgeable and responsible for developing, reviewing, reporting, and supervising construction schedules.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, update, and maintain cost and resource-loaded schedules.
- Perform schedule reviews and prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly schedule update analysis reports; investigate and analyze schedule impacts; and recommend corrective action plans to be taken to mitigate/avoid cost and schedule overruns.
- Monitor, review, and report to senior and executive management the schedule status of the project.
- Prepare Time Impact Analysis and review contractors' time extension requests.
- Represent the project in meetings with the owner, A/E representatives, and other contractors, as required.
- Develop “what-if” schedule scenarios, mitigation schedules, and look-ahead schedules.
- Identify schedule issues, opportunities, and corrective actions to mitigate potential delays to projects.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or construction management required.
- 5+ years of experience in planning and scheduling/project controls/program controls on multiple sides of the business (e.g., consultant, owner, owner rep, contract/architect, contractor, engineer) required.
- Rail experience preferred.
- Field experience preferred.
- Experience in transportation programs preferred.
- Proficient in using Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the preparation and development of resource-loaded design and construction schedules using the Critical Path Method (CPM) required.
- Relevant construction scheduling experience in planning, scheduling, expediting, maintaining, and reporting the progress/status of work required.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills required.
- Understanding of construction and construction means and methods required.
- Must be an excellent multi-tasker, detail-orientated, independent self-starter with good writing skills who can communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
$140,000 - $172,000 a year The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $172,000. A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual's scope of relevant experience and geographic location.
Additional Requirements Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen. Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
