Position Summary
Public Works, Project Management Division II, is seeking experienced Project Managers (levels I and/or II) to help manage County Capital Improvement projects in the Parks, Probation, and General Projects Section. Position Responsibilities

    • Manage project management in vertical construction.
    • Manage public sector building projects through planning, design, and jurisdictional approvals.
    • Process bidding, contract awarding, construction, and close-out.
Position Qualifications
    • Minimum 5 years (PMI) or 10 years (PMII) of project management and concurrent field construction experience required.
    • Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) required.
    • Education background in architecture, civil engineering construction management, or a related field is required.
    • Experience with the County of Los Angeles Building Code and Standards required.
    • Knowledge of Los Angeles County Public Works protocols and procedures is desirable.
    • Knowledge of the Public Contracting Code and practices required.
    • Strong leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
    • Work experience in project planning, development, master planning, and feasibility studies required.
    • Experience working in an operational facility, including maintenance-type work required.
    • Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project required.
    • Ability to develop and control project scope required.
    • Ability to develop and maintain project budgets required.
    • Ability to develop and review project schedules required.
    • Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents required.
    • Ability to run the day-to-day management aspects of projects in a fast-paced environment required.
    • Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings required.
    • Ability to effectively negotiate and prepare change orders required.
    • Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate construction activities with the various project stakeholders required.
    • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges required.
    • Capacity to effectively recognize and elevate relevant project issues to superiors required.
    • Ability to set and manage project expectations required.
    • Experience working on projects with multiple phases and construction contracts required.
    • Design-Build and Progressive Design-Build project delivery experience desirable.
    • CMAR project delivery experience desirable.
    • Job Order Contracting (JOC) project delivery experience is desirable.
$110,000 - $150,000 a year The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000.  A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual's scope of relevant experience and geographic location. Additional Requirements   Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.   Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.    About PMA   At PMA, employee well-being is a daily priority.
