Position Summary   We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-Time Field Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the installation and maintenance of systems and equipment in the field. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless execution of projects, ensuring that all engineering operations adhere to quality standards, timelines, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in diverse field environments, managing multiple tasks simultaneously. 
Key responsibilities include overseeing system deployments, performing routine inspections and repairs, offering technical support to clients, and ensuring operational efficiency. The role requires travel to the job site, interacting with clients, and maintaining close communication with engineering and operations teams. Candidates should be capable of adapting to new technologies and handling equipment-related challenges in the field.     • Coordinates architect and engineering visits and call-outs for quality assurance/quality control concerns and inspections. 
    • Reports quality assurance/quality control observations and daily progress, tracks manpower, monitors change orders, and identifies and resolves issues.
    • Assesses safety, risk, and scheduling concerns, anticipates potential challenges and proposes effective solutions.
    • Ensures compliance with contract requirements in material selection, project planning, and execution of the construction process.
    • Performs contractor(s) work site supervision; observes and reports during construction and closeout phases. 
    • Assists project managers in defining and developing project scope, objectives, and deliverables; develops detailed project plans, schedules, and total project budgets. 
    • Assists project manager (or designee) with scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and invoicing third-party testing agencies and subconsultants. 
    • Interfaces with owners, abutters, and end users as needed during construction; identifies and coordinates potential or developing construction- and safety-related issues. 
    • Works with various team counterparts (e.g., the general contractor, consultants, subconsultants, etc.) during design and construction and with municipal-level participants during project, design, and construction coordination. 
    • Identifies and administers internal risk mitigation, quality control, and health and safety plan compliance. 
    • Assists project manager or assistant project manager with contract administration support and with architect, engineer, subconsultant, contractor, subcontractor, etc. oversight. 
    • Plans and implements startup/system testing and commissioning activities, including training programs for personnel.
    • Ensures the project complies with all GOAA and client requirements, maintaining regulatory adherence as well as TSA, FAA and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
    • Other duties as assigned. 
Position Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
    • 5-10 years of related experience in horizontal or heavy civil infrastructure construction required.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills required. 
    • Must be an excellent multi-tasker, detail-orientated, independent self-starter with good writing skills who can communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams required.
Additional Requirements   Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.   Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.   About PMA   At PMA, employee well-being is a daily priority.
