    Job Details
  • The Registered Nurse position is open in Cartersville, GA.
  • This opportunity is with Piedmont Healthcare at the Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center.
  • The role requires a minimum of 1 year of experience and is open to first-time travelers.
  • The patient population includes adults to geriatrics, with an average daily census of 28.
  • The ratio of patients to nurses is 1:4/5.
  • The unit utilizes systems such as Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR.
  • Diagnoses handled include CHF, STEMI, NSTEMI, renal, pulmonary, trauma, stroke, TIA, among others.
  • Special Procedures involved may include peritoneal dialysis, CPAP, BIPAP, EKG monitoring, stress tests, cardiac caths, TR bands, and medication infusions.
    Job Requirements
  • Required Skills/Certs: BLS, ACLS, Epic experience.
  • Competency in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
  • Experience with telemetry both on-unit and remote monitoring.
  • Pre/Post Cardiac Angiogram care.
  • IV insulin protocol management.
  • Nutrition via feeding tubes.
  • Genitourinary/Renal care.
  • Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management.
  • Blood Product Administration.
  • Central and peripheral line care/management including PICC lines.
  • Expertise in starting IVs and managing Heparin Protocols.
  • Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (without titration).
  • Procedural Sedation Administration.
  • Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
  • CVA and neurosurgery support.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury care.
  • Ortho trauma and postoperative care for total joint replacements.
  • Management of surgical drains and chest tubes.
  • Respiratory care including external CPAP/BIPAP and tracheostomy management.
  • Application of isolation precautions.
  • Wound care including the use of wound vacs.
    Schedule Information
  • RTO: Maximum of 7 days, with no guarantee of blocked scheduling.
  • Holidays: Cannot request RTO for holidays, but no one works all major holidays unless they choose to.
  • Weekend work is required for unit coverage, sometimes more frequently than every other weekend.
  • Floating may be required to other departments as needed to cover the facility.
  • Compliance with the schedule is mandatory to start on time.
    Unit Specific Information
  • The unit caters to a variety of conditions not unstable enough for ICU but not stable for med-surg.
  • Special procedures performed in the unit.
    Additional Details
  • Full compliance is required to start on time.
  • Any delay in compliance may lead to a start date being pushed back due to bi-weekly orientation schedules.
  • Once a candidate has signed and confirmation is sent, the manager has 48 hours to review the profile.
