Position Summary:
Penske seeks an experienced Workforce Planning Professional at the Manager/Leader Level to lead large-scale field initiatives to deliver more effective and efficient ways of working. In it, you will use data-driven insights, critical problem solving and impactful communication to translate business insights into action, influencing strategic business and workforce decisions.
In this role you will lead a team to identify and address gaps between Penske's current and future workforce needs in alignment with business strategy. This role will support field operations in balancing the quantity, quality and location of the critical talent necessary to meet business needs. Workforce Planning, Capacity Planning, Advance Analytics, and Workforce Scheduling are all the focus of this growing team.
This role reports to the Vice President-Field Operations and will partner with a project manager and analyst within the group. This role will work with cross-functional partners in Facilities, Maintenance, Rental, Sales, Human Resources to plan for the future needs of the Penske Truck Leasing field organization. This position can be based out of any location in the US or Canada, and may include travel up to 65%, including frequent trips to our Green Hills corporate offices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategic workforce plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Foster a data-driven culture by providing insights and recommendations based on workforce analytics.
- Create tools, analyses and dashboards that provide a clear picture of the organizational landscape, including people, space and capacity resources.
- Utilize SWP methodologies to analyze current workforce trends, identify skill gaps, and recommend talent strategies.
- Collaborate with Operational Leadership, HR, and key stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure workforce planning aligns with strategic objectives.
- Conduct regular workforce analytics to assess the effectiveness of current workforce strategies and propose adjustments as needed.
- Monitor external factors impacting the workforce landscape and adjust plans accordingly.
- Facilitate communication and training programs to ensure understanding and adoption of workforce planning initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and maintain SWP certification to bring the latest methodologies to the organization.
- Collaborate with recruitment teams to align hiring strategies with long-term workforce plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Org Design, Human Resources, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- SWP certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience in strategic workforce planning in a managerial capacity and over multi-site locations.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in workforce analytics tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and anticipate future workforce needs.
- In-depth knowledge of HR policies, labor market trends, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in planning processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
