Description
The Protective Services Officer, under the supervision of the Protective Services Supervisor, ensures safety and security for Paycom personnel at any location secured by the Safety and Physical Security Department. Officers will monitor and ensure all proper procedures are followed for individuals entering and exiting their assigned location. Officers must remain on high alert to prevent security breaches, theft, or other forms of loss.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrols grounds to check for hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Tour assigned location by foot and/or vehicle in all weather conditions to ensure all buildings, gates, and fence perimeters are secure.
- Check for hazards and possible security breaches to safeguard against the property and personnel.
- Record security issues into an online security log for record keeping.
- Monitors and controls access onto the premises to regulate the admittance process and preclude unauthorized access to the location by use of Access Control and Video Surveillance.
- Greet and direct personnel and visitors onto the property.
- Responds immediately to unusual or emergency situations and takes appropriate action to ensure the safety and security of the personnel and property.
- Quickly and safely direct emergency personnel on and off the property when emergency situations occur.
- Maintain order and control during emergency situations.
- Complete all required safety and security training within 90 days of employment.
- Shadow and train during day, night, and weekend shifts to gain experience necessary to work independently on all shifts.
- Complete online courses that cover patrol, firearm safety and traffic control within 90 days of hire.
- Maintains proficient use of all assigned personal protective equipment, e.g., weapons and life saving devices.
- Hold valid CLEET Security Officer License level IV-Armed throughout employment.
- Responsible for providing individual firearm and carrying it at all times while on duty.
- Within 90 days, understand all company safety and security policies and enforce compliance.
- Read, comprehend and exhibit understanding of company safety and security policies and procedures.
- Enforce compliance of safety and security procedures for the assigned location.
- Remain aware of any changes in safety and security procedures.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all security policy and procedures, written or oral, as well as applicable local, state and federal laws.
- Inspires the trust of others while working with integrity and a high ethical standard.
- Upholds the organizations values and keeps commitments by treating all internal and external customers with respect.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma required
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- CLEET Security Officer License level IV Armed required
- Current valid Oklahoma state drivers license required
- Five (5) years experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security preferred
- Ability to work well and effectively as an individual contributor
- Knowledge of PSD principles
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress emergency situations
- Must maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to plan and coordinate work in an efficient and organized manner.
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications and other necessary training
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
- Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
