Overview Position: Full-Time Security Manager
Site: Toronto Pearson Airport - 6301 Silver Dart Drive Mississauga, ON
Hours: Rotating Continental - 0700-1900 and 1900-0700hrs.
Payrate:
$25.75/hr.
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Site Description: Toronto Pearson International Airport is the fourth-largest entry point in North America. The GTAA is the operator and manager of Toronto Pearson International Airport with a 15-member Board of Directors comprised of professionals from the world of aviation and business sectors as well as local citizens.

 

Job Description:  Working on assigned shifts, The Security Operations Manager shall be responsible for overseeing the provision of Services and shall be the official day to day contact, administrator and liaison contact for the GTAA Representative. You will provide proactive and reactive security services safeguarding the traffic sector of Toronto Pearson International Airport. The safety and security of all Airport customers is paramount to Paladin Security's success. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Being alert and observant while being outside, standing or walking for an extended period of time in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold…etc.)
  • Be responsible for onsite day to day operations, liaising with Client on Day to Day issues that may arise.
  • Attend daily meetings with Airport Security/Operational Staff, daily Security Supervisor meetings etc
  • Work in tandem with Terminal Security Supervisors, collectively maintaining oversight of Frontline Staff.
  • Keep daily records of incidents, events, disciplinary or administrative actions taken, problems encountered.
  • Report issues directly to the Client that occur above and beyond regular daily operations
  • Ensure all records are neat, concise and in a format approved by the GTAA Representative.
  • Ensure that all Staff comply with all applicable airport safety, security, and operational procedures and regulations as they relate to this Contract.
  • Investigate all complaints in timely manner and take immediate and appropriate disciplinary action against the defaulter.
  • Ensure that the appropriate uniform is provided and that all staff on duty are in full uniform while on airport property.
  • Responsible for the administration and operational control of the entire traffic sector of Toronto Pearson (Roadways and both terminals)
  • Have in their possession a cellular phone in order to remain in regular contact with the GTAA Representative and/or the Integrated Communication Centre (ICC) during normal business hours while in the performance of their duties.
  • Ensure that all staff have in their possession and clearly visible proper Paladin Uniform and ID.
  • Provide reports as requested by the GTAA Representative in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to PRC and Scheduler and ensure that all the posts are fully manned unless properly relieved.
  • Assist with security duties during peak periods within both terminals.
  • Represent Paladin Security, The Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) and their respected customers in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and reputation of Toronto Pearson International Airport.
 

Prerequisites:  At the time of the interview, applicants must be able to produce proof of completion of the following:

 

  1. A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  2. Successful completion of University degree or College diploma;
  3. Five (5) years of management experience; preferably in an Airport environment.
  4. Must be eligible for a Transport Canada Security Clearance, RAIC, holds a certificate in a recognized GTAA Customer Service Training Program
  5. Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written form).
  6. Driving Record - No more than 2 minor convictions, no major convictions, and no more than 6 demerits in the last three years.
