Job Skills / Requirements General Duties Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, controlling access points, and enforcing security protocols.
This role is located in Cumberland County Nova Scotia. You must be located in this area to be considered.
DUTIES:
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries from the public.
- Patrol client properties by foot/vehicle to prevent unauthorized entry and politely direct disruptive individuals to leave the premises
- Enforce rules and policies and control access to the facility
- Write clear and comprehensive reports including daily activity reports and incident reports
- Utilize two way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred
- Police Foundations, Corrections or Law & Security Diploma is preferred
- Comfortable approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.
- Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smart phone, and communicating via two-way radio.
- Valid Standard First Aid Level C
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including report writing.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, professional demeanor and deportment
- Physical ability to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to obtain a Nova Scotia Security License
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable working vehicle.
High School Diploma/GED
Post secondary education in law enforcement from a recognized institution or equivalent experience
Valid G Licence
Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
