Position:   Full-Time Security Guard  Site:   Huron Water Supply
Site Address:  71155 Bluewater Hwy, Grand Bend, ON   N0M 1N0 Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours    Hours:  Continental Rotation - Monday to Sunday 0700-1900/1900-0700    Payrate:  $ 22.07/hour    Posting Date:  March 3, 2025  Internal Closing Date: March 10, 2025
External Closing Date:  April 10, 2025            
Assist with all emergency and security incident related functions which includes, but not limited to, managing and screening visitors onsite, monitoring of security systems and CCTV, alarm response, fire and medical response and mitigation, the security of property through foot patrol (3 to 4 patrols per shift), and the protection of people by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act and when necessary, invoking arrest authorities under the Trespass to Property Act and the Criminal Code of Canada

Key responsibilities:  

• Conduct plant tours inside and out (weekday day shift 1 per day, weekends and night 4 per shift
• Report and Security or Safet issue (lighting, exit signs, door issues) 
• Visitors sign in and out sheets 
• Covid sign in and out sheets 
• Sign out temp visitor's cards or keys and log numbers 
• Monitor all door alarms 
• Access control 
• Monitor cameras 
• Ensure all doors/windows are secure 
• Monitor gate access 
• Stand by for deliveries 
• Monitor weather 
• Complete notebook entries per shift 
• Log/pass on book 
• Investigate and suspicious activity 
• Incident reports completed 
  
  

Prerequisites:    

• Post-secondary Law Enforcement or Police Foundations
• Need copy of certification to submit to client 
• Bonded and fingerprinted 
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check 
• Security License 
• Computer knowledge 
• Experience in access control, closed circuit television, and incident reporting
• Customer service skills
• Experience working in Government environment preferably Municipal Government
• Certified in non-violent crisis intervention 
• Use of Force Training 
• First Aid and CPR Level C with AED
