Job Skills / Requirements Position: Security Guard   Site: GKN Metals  Site Address: 7 Michigan Blvd, St. Thomas, ON  N5P 1H1  Status: Temporary Full Time  Hours:     2 week Rotating                    Week #1  Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday                    Week #2  Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday   Pay Rate: $22.00/hour  Posting Date:  January 30, 2025  Closing Date:  February 6, 2025  Overtime Method:  Averaging Agreement – calculation after 88 hours bi-weekly

Position Overview:  

GKN guards will work indoors and outdoors to provide a deterrent to theft of building materials.  Duties include but are not limited to Security Patrols and Respond to Emergency situations.    Requirements: 

• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act. 
• Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations. 
• Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise and legible reports.  
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy. 
• Patrol assigned area on foot, to ensure building security.  
• Watch for and report irregularities by completing investigations and incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire and/or ambulance personnel, as required. 
• Safety footwear is required  
• Must have reliable transportation to commute to the job site 

Certification Requirements (Any)

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
