Overview

Under the direction of the VP/Indirect Lending, assists with the achievement of assigned sales and production goals for the Indirect Lending Department, including but not limited to, responsible for identifying performance, production, and developmental opportunities of the Indirect Lending Team; performs daily, weekly, and monthly reports for tracking and evaluation of current production compared to the assigned team goal and current market share position; reviews production reports for coinciding dealer relationships, and determines areas of potential growth; performs market shops of competitor loan programs to include rates, program offerings, parameters, reserves (flats), and presents recommendations for updates and competitiveness that align with OnPoint's strategic plan and goals; directs and oversees the Indirect Loan Processor I, II, and Underwriter staff; promotes the development of relationships with dealer partners for increased indirect lending market share; and serves as a liaison between OnPoint and dealer partners.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Demonstrates both leadership and management skills that elevate the indirect lending team's goal pursuit in support of the organizational goals.
  • Promotes and reinforces an effective production and service environment by modeling desired behavior and providing feedback for growth and development of the indirect lending team.
  • Utilizes individual staff development plans to ensure appropriate training and alignment with the expected performance, production, and behaviors.
  • Collaborates with the VP/Indirect Lending with supervisory activities to include: hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and HR related items.
  • Oversees employee's performance appraisals, performs ongoing coaching, and continuously communicates OnPoint Purpose, Vision, and Guiding Principles in conjunction with the VP/Indirect Lending.
  • Manages daily workflow and task assignments to ensure effective utilization of staff, and re-deploys available staff and resources to meet the current need of indirect loan volume.
  • Participates in the planning, scheduling, leading, and evaluating of weekly department meetings.
  • Collaborates with the VP/Indirect Lending to perform monthly one-on-ones, mid-year discussions, and annual focal reviews.
  • Actively promotes teamwork through consistent communication of policies, procedures, production, and service objectives.
  • Exercises high level of indirect auto lending knowledge with designated lending authority and loan limits.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and decision higher dollars indirect auto loans.
  • Underwrite in accordance within OnPoint policies and all applicable governing state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Assesses the importance, urgency, and risk associated with each application to make decisions and develop viable solutions in support of meeting the member's needs and the Credit Union's objectives. 
  • Demonstrates appropriate lending skills that align with OnPoint's strategic objectives, lending practices, and risk tolerance while adhering to documented lending guidelines, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exercises analytical and critical thinking skills to support judgmental and decision-making with lending and supervision of staff.
  • Recommends ideas and solutions for process improvements.
  • Maintains knowledge of OnPoint's consumer loan products. 
  • Performs additional duties as required by the VP Indirect Lending as indirect loan volume dictates.

  • Ability to analyze basic and complex tax returns and financial statements.
  • Ability to read and analyze Credit Reports.
  • Knowledge of OnPoint's products, services, and procedures.
  • Exceptional research skills and ability to examine loan applications, credit reports, auto loan structures to provide a thorough review and analysis.
  • Possesses technical aptitude and experience managing implementation of processes, procedures, technical, or systematic updates.
  • Ability to perform daily job functions in a self-directed manner with limited supervision.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute rate and percentages. 
  • Skilled at using ten-key and data entry. 
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, and ability to learn and use software tools.

  • Ability to recognize opportunities for area of development, and effectively communicates the necessary updates.
  • Exceptional time management skills with strong ability to coordinate and prioritize workload in high volume area.

Qualifications

 

  • 4 year college degree is preferred, or 4 years of indirect lending experience.
  • 2 - 3 years supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years customer service experience in public environment preferred.
  • Sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the auto industry including lending market volumes, trends, market share, inventory, pricing, and practices is preferred.
  • Proficient in working with DNA and MeridianLink operating systems preferred.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated utilization of Origence (arcOs) platform preferred.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated utilization of Experian Accelerate (Auto Count) platform preferred.
  • Available to periodically work in the early evening hours and/or Saturdays.
