After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Assist with physical therapy procedures and related tasks. Provide direct patient care to individuals with physical disabilities and/or functional limitations in clinic, outpatient, and outreach programs. 


Responsibilities:

* Assist the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations and complex procedures.
* Carries out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation performed by Physical Therapist.
* Instruct patients on segments of the program, including proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices.
* Obtains and returns required equipment.
* Maintains and cares for equipment and supplies.
* Develop and maintain administrative records, reports, and statistics as required.
* Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
* Assist Medical Director and Clinic Program Director in assuring the quality and continuity of all outpatient therapy services to include referrals and contract care areas and developing updating protocols, policies and procedures in accordance with needs and demands of therapy service.
* Serve as an advisor in health matters regarding outpatient therapy services.
* Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk.
* Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may “not seem right”.
* Assist with dressing and undressing; removing and putting on braces or supportive equipment, prostheses, crutches, etc.
* Record data progress during therapy session.
* Measure and track range of motion.
* Straighten and clean rooms.
* Clean and prepare equipment for therapy session.
* Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
* Assist in community health fairs, education and other events.
* Contribute to Quality Assurance in the facility.
* Coordinate Physical Therapy schedule with Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy for comprehensive plan of care.
* Communicate with referring providers regarding patient progress.

* Associates Degree in Physical Therapy (Pre-Physical Therapy)

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
