Summary:

Responsible to design and install new electrical and telecommunication systems. Incumbent will maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot current and future systems. This position may be required to work a flexible schedule to include all shifts, weekends, holidays, and an on-call basis. 


Responsibilities:

* Practice excellent customer service skills at all times.
* Complete work orders in a timely manner.
* Plan, layout, and repair wiring, circuits, and control equipment.
* Appraise projects and tasks in terms of cost of labor and materials required; make recommendations to supervisor regarding feasibility of project.
* Schedule installations ensuring materials are ordered and delivered to ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner.
* Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials; provides access for future maintenance; avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring; ensures all work meets specifications and local electrical codes.
* Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of component using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, and oscilloscope.
* Plan schedule of preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment to minimize equipment failure, to include visual and test inspections, torqueing connections, component testing, taking amperage readings, primary and secondary voltage readings on transformers, and ensure completed in a timely manner.
* Create and monitor various electrical duties and schedules.
* Adjust electrical equipment and systems as needed.
* Develop Departmental Standard Operating Procedures related to electrical processes and procedures.
* Check electrical connections and repairs or replaces as needed.
* Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for critical equipment.
* Work with and troubleshoot automated control systems.
* Work cooperatively with the Carpentry, Electrical, and outside vendors to ensure assigned equipment is in good working order, including all Casino electronic equipment.
* Schedule and provide staff training in electrical and relevant topics.
* Operate and maintain tools, lifts, and other required equipment.
* Adhere to all safety procedures.
* Attend and participate in training opportunities/seminars relevant to this position.
* Prioritize and assign work orders to staff; ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
* Create and maintain a library of service and repair manuals for all electrical equipment used by the Oneida Comprehensive Housing Division
* Monitor and maintain all Residential equipment to include but not limited to: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, power distribution equipment, branch power systems, generators, and UPS Power systems to detect hazards and adjust as needed

* Knowledge of occupational hazards, safe working practices and safety precautions in accordance with applicable Tribal, State, or Federal (OSHA) laws and regulation regarding workplace safety
* Ability to read blue prints and knowledge of all phases of construction
* Knowledge and ability to reference the National Electric Code (NEC) and the State Electrical Code (SEC)
* Ability to operate and maintain tools, lifts and equipment
* Knowledge of Uniform Building Code and Safety Regulations
* Skill in operating a personal computer, utilizing programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook
* Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training to stay updated on emerging technologies
* Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
* Ability to prepare and maintain work orders.
* Read, interpret, and work from architectural drawings, blueprints, and schematics and the Uniform Building Code, Electrical Code, and Safety Code.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
