After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Assist in providing direct program services and community education.


Responsibilities:

* Practice excellent and trauma informed customer service and skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing customer and co-workers needs courteously and promptly.
* Assist with program intakes and initial assessments, case management, crisis intervention, support services, and works closely with the local domestic violence shelter coordinators for screening and placement.
* Arranges for education and other appropriate intervention opportunities for individuals/families to participate in.
* Assist clients in court hearings and maintain contact with Probation and Parole to ensure accountability and compliance.
* Provide sexual assault/domestic abuse education groups to clients on-site and to other community entities.
* Develop program curriculum needed to identify and address child and teen male social issues including AODA, sexuality and gender issues, gangs, cultural identity, bullying, conflict resolution, communication, relationships, and other issues regarding child and teen males.
* Maintain client files to include, but not limited to, case management, referrals, intakes, assessments, pre/posttests, surveys, releases, safety plans, service notes and discharge/closing reports.
* Provide access to culturally based teachings and healing practices that are geared toward client population.
* Participate, collaborate and maintain working relationships with various internal and external programs.
* Complete required reports for the department, organization and/or funding source in a timely manner.
* Provide service-related presentations and education information regarding the Wellness Court to tribal, non-tribal agencies and the community as needed.
* Develop a thorough understanding of the Oneida Police Department's procedures and protocols when handling incidences involving victims of domestic abuse.
* Assist with required reporting to include, but not limited to data collection on services.
* Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required

Skills:

Essential:
* Business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic math
* Knowledge of applicable Oneida Nation, federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements
* Ability to work effectively with individuals and demonstrate leadership and team-building skills with empathy and enthusiasm
* Ability to create and maintain client files
* Ability to collect data, prepare accurate & complete reports
* Knowledge in the area of domestic abuse and its' impacts on families
* Ability to exercise independent judgement
* Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment
* Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and co-workers at all levels
* Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees, supervisors, managers, directors, and the general public
* Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of the judicial system in the area of domestic abuse prosecution
Nonessential:
* Knowledge of the Oneida community, its history and culture.

Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
*  Bachelor's Degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling.

Credentials:

Essential:
* A valid driver's license or occupational driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance are required. Must obtain a Wisconsin driver's license or occupational driver's license within thirty (30) days of employment if applicant has an out-of-state driver's license. Must be authorized as eligible to operate a Personal and Tribal vehicle under the Oneida Nation's Vehicle Driver Certification and Fleet Management Law prior to actual start date. Must maintain driver's eligibility as a condition of employment.
Nonessential:

* Child Abuse Reporting Policy (CARP), within ninety (90) days of employment.

Experience:
Essential: . 

* One (1) year recent (within five years) direct practice experience working with individuals or families in the area of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault.
* One (1) year recent (within five years) experience facilitating educational or support groups in the domestic abuse, sexual assault; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  

Nonessential:
* Two (2) or more years' experience working with individuals and families in the area of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault.

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
