Reports to the OA/CTS Director and is a salaried, exempt position. Responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of the School to Career/Work Based Learning program. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and abides by Odle Core Values and operating principles.
- Escorts potential employers on center tours; serves as guest speaker on and off center to promote the School to Career program.
- Works with campus staff, employers, organized labor, and the community to establish and maintain Work-Based Learning site MOUs and agreements that meet the needs of students.
- Monitors students daily progress at WBL sites.
- Facilitates meetings and activities to bring together the appropriate persons, including employers, instructors, students, and center staff to ensure the success of the School to Career/Work-Based Learning program.
- Generates work site opportunities that best match the training capabilities and needs of trainees with employers' requirements.
- Serves as liaison with both the Career Technical Training and Career Transition Services departments in facilitating the coordination of the campuses Work-Based Learning program.
- Visits established work sites at least bi-monthly to cultivate work site relationships. Coordinate, periodically, guest speakers in career training classrooms to allow the vocational instructors to visit work sites and trainees as required for the success of the Work-Based Learning program. This could include Job Corps graduates, local employer partners or workforce/one-stop allies. Submits monthly WBL activity report.
- Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
- Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Cultivates and maintains a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
- Attends required staff training sessions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or four years' professional experience working with youth preferred. Two years' experience in marketing, sales, or counseling related areas preferred.
- Prefer supervisory experience.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
Additional Requirements: Good understanding of the local community and employer base. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent organizational skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with and relate to trainee base. Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.
